2005-04-27 Columbia Load Transfer System Combines Pallet Dispenser/Output Conveyor for High-Speed Trailer Loading

Columbia Machine’s load transfer station (LTS) transfers pallets and provides high-speed trailer-loading capabilities at speeds up to 50 loads per hour, including pallet loading time. Using an LTS configuration that combines a pallet stacker, pallet dispenser, and an output conveyor, the system increases trailer-loading speed while reducing forklift-waiting time. A single driver can feed loads to the LTS while, simultaneously, a forklift can pick up loads coming off the output conveyor. Available for a low capital investment, the LTS system helps to reduce shipping and warehousing costs by increasing pallet transfer efficiency and saving labor expenses. The pallet dispenser handles 20 GMA pallets or 17 CHEP pallets. The LTS system is ideal for capturing in-house pallets to reduce pallet replacement and repair costs. It features rugged construction to withstand the punishment of forklift impacts and other plant hazards. The small footprint and versatile design means it fits most applications with no significant modifications.
